Room 25 is amazing. You don't find rooms that spacious at any price. The high ceilings give an open feel reminiscent of an artist's loft. The entire hotel is charming and my main regret was not to have more time to explore the common areas on the main floor. The lobby, historic bar and restaurant are wonderful. I hope to get to return one day soon. Thanks to the staff and management for a great stay. Holly
We love staying at the Frederick Hotel. The bar is a very inviting place to gather with old friends or make new ones. I always feel like I am stepping back in time when traveling and staying in a hotel was a treat and you could experience something a little different from your day to day life. The staff at the Frederick has created a warm welcoming atmosphere that lures you back again and again. Well done.
We enjoyed our post Mizzou football game Saturday evening at the Hotel Frederick the last weekend of November. We slept in comfort and mingled the next morning over the delicious breakfast with other happy Tiger fans. We have stayed here many times and highly recommend it for Mizzou fans and those who love to bike the Katy trail as it is so close to Columbia and the trail.
We love staying in small towns with historic hotels that give you the feel of how the town came into being. The Hotel Frederick does that well. Nicely renovated with the feel of a large B&B. Nice staff and very helpful. We rode the KATY bike trail from Boonville to Rocheport along the Missouri River and back. Highly recommend as a great day trip, special occasion or overnight stay.
The hotel is so unique and so very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fabulous. Main Street and historic walking tour of town took us back 100 years. What a great place for a weekend get away.
My sister and I celebrated her 78th birthday when I surprised her with dinner at the Fred on Saturday, November 9, 2013 and an overnight stay at the Frederick Hotel, Boonville, MO. We got up on her birthday, November 10th and had a great breakfast, which is part of the overnight stay.
She really enjoyed the room (we were in #9) a lovely room, which would be great for a family of 4 because it has a daybed, plus a trundle bed, in addition to 2 double beds. We were so impressed with everything - the copper pipes that were used for towel racks, the pressed flower wall decorations (1909), the rugs! WOW! Those rugs are so beautiful! They were especially meaningful to me, having been fortunate enough to have traveled in an Arab country and seen the nomads (who weave these pieces of art, called rugs) living in their black goat hair tents.
The Fred is a restaurant with many choices. My family (my brother and sister-in-law came over to join us for Saturday night dinner) all had some type of hamburger. These were all delivered to the table and received an audible "oh look, that is awesome". They were beautifully presented - a tall stack topped by pickles and accompanied by lots of scrumptious fries with a hint of Parmesan and truffle. The duck with fig confit and roasted vegetables was my choice, and a very good one. Three of us chose dessert, mainly because there was creme brulee - 2 flavors to choose from! My sister and I chose the pumpkin and my brother the vanilla bean. For both of them, this was a new experience, they had never eaten it before - they pronounced it wonderful. I agree, having eaten this - my favorite dessert - in many restaurants, it was right up there with the best.
The lounge was enjoyable, everyone was talking and having fun. We enjoyed several pleasant hours after dinner before going up to bed. P.S. The bartender does a great brandy Alexander.
This is truly a destination hotel, to be savored for all the delights to the eye and friendliness of
staff, as well as comfortable beds and delicious food in the restaurant on premises. Boonville is a lovely old town with many old buildings beautifully preserved - and for the ladies - lots of unique shops to explore.
We have a family tradition of attending the Mizzou vs Tennessee game. We reserved rooms for family to stay the night before the game and night of the game. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. There was great space for us to hangout in the bar and lobby. The staff was very outgoing and interested in us have a great experience. Everyone took ownership in the hotel and making sure were were looked after. We had brunch in the restaurant on Sunday before we left and that was excellent as well.
We stayed at Hotel Frederick because of our son's wedding, it was one of the host hotels that had blocked rooms for family. It was a great place and we would stay again just to vacation. The history, the woodwork, the rooms, and restaurant were all wonderful. The staff were more than helpful and very accommodating. I would recommend the Hotel Frederick to anyone staying in the area.
Loved staying at Hotel Frederick after the MU game last weekend - we arrived tired and down after first loss of the season, and were treated to a gorgeous historic hotel full of all the modern comforts of home. It was a real treat staying in such an architecturally beautiful and historic building. Hotel Frederick is our new home away from home near Columbia. Thanks for a great stay!
Although the Tigers lost, our stay at the Frederick helped salve our wounds. We had fun at the bar, had a good night's sleep and enjoyed coffee with our "new friends" in the morning. Thanks again and we will be back.
