Philip of Shawnee, KS writes… Great Experience

We loved our stay at the Frederick. It was nothing like a conventional hotel which is what we enjoyed. In some ways it was like going back in time but with modern conveniences.

The food at the restaurant was outstanding, the best meal we've had in some time. We also enjoyed hanging out at the bar, which was more like a coffee shop atmosphere. My wife doesn't drink alcohol so the bartender recommended a mojito without the rum. It is her new favorite drink.

We rode our bikes on the Katy Trail which can be picked up directly across the street from the hotel. We rode from the hotel to Rocheport and had lunch at the Les Bourgeois Vineyard. Also a great meal. The Katy trail was great.

Our only regret was why we hadn't done this sooner.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with warmth. The check in process was simple. The front desk clerk had impeccable manners and even gave us some history lessons about the hotel and all of the furnishings etc. We stayed in room 20, which was large and beautifully decorated. We loved examining the very old trunk, wood work and furniture:)

Highly recommend Hotel Frederick for a get away

Stayed at Hotel Frederick with two other couples night before riding Katy Trail. Very nice room & helpful staff. Hotel has a room for locking bikes up over night. We used a conference room for our happy hour party for six & then had dinner at The Fred (hotel's bar) which had an amazing menu since the dining room is not open on Monday. We'll have to come back on a different day of the week for the restaurant. We love historic hotels & this is one of the better ones we have stayed in.

We had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Frederick. It is a gem in Mid-MO. Our room was gorgeous with a great view of the river, luxurious bed and awesome glassed in bathroom. While the room had all the modern conveniences for comfort, it was also filled with lovely antiques - including a comfy old rocking chair, which I promptly pulled up to the window to watch the river flow by.

Dinner at the "Fred"restaurant in the hotel was fantastic and very reasonable and the complimentary breakfast the next morning was far better then the usual hotel fare.

By far the best part of the whole experience is the building. It is so beautifully restored with such attention to detail, perfectly appointed antiques, fantastic antique map collection on the walls, unique and comfortable rooms and very reasonable prices, quick drive to Columbia and right on Katy Trail. You simply won't find a better place to stay in Mid-Missouri!

Chi of Columbia, MO writes… Nice getaway

The staff at the hotel and Fred lounge were friendly and attentive, especially Evan and Matthew. I didn't realize at first that the restaurant only served dinner on certain nights (not the nights I was there) but the lounge served a smaller menu and desserts which were great. If you are a light sleeper like me, avoid the rooms that face the street front-the noise from trucks and trailers kept me up at night. The hotel provides ear plugs, but I still had trouble sleeping. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a variety of soaps-the aromas might be too strong for some. I enjoyed exploring the hotel (interesting furniture, artwork and bookshelves with books), seeing the variety of room layouts, the local shops and Katy trail. In all it was a nice quiet getaway without having to travel too far.

This hotel took you back in time. With jewels of the past placed all over the inside of the hotel. Wife was very impressed with my choosing, causing a rise in brownie points I accumulated. It was simple, but quite stunning. Will return in the future.

Robert of Bloomington, IN writes… Excellent Experience

We arrived in Friday evening from a day on the Katy Trail. Enjoyed an excellent meal at the hotel restaurant and had a good night sleep in a comfortable room. The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating of our bicycles, which they stored in the basement in a locked room. The breakfast was fresh and we enjoyed the company of other travelers. The character of the hotel's fantastic, and we will definitely return.

From the time we arrived to check in everything was good, the front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful. The whole place was very well kept and there was a place for our bikes in the basement. Decided to have supper there and it too was very good. Nice room for breakfast in the morning and that food was also good.

Carol of Saint Louis, MO writes… Delightful surprise

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The quirky nature of the rooms added to the fun. By quirky I mean the blend of old and new. Dinner at The Fred was outstanding with creative food and outstanding service. Again, the staff could not have been more friendly, informative, and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this to anyone spending a little time in mid-Missouri or on the Katy Trail.

Frances of Brooklyn, NY writes… Lovely stay

We enjoyed our stay, from the fun colors in the room, to the large bathroom, the great food in the bar and the plentiful breakfast. Special thanks for the hose outside the entrance, we were soaked and filthy after a rainy day on the Katy Trail and the hose was a lifesaver. The safe indoor bike storage was appreciated. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
